Busy night Part 3

They end up on the roof of a fancy restaurant.
They see a thin shape of a person silhouetted against the lights from the streets below.
This figure has its back turned to them and seems to be watching the sky.

Jaxon: *Looks down to the figure*

The figure dosen't seem to notice them.

Jaxon: ... *Breathes a bit* *Looks to Bhola and Greenbeard* *Waves to them to come over*

Greenbeard and Bhola go to Jaxon. Bhola's metal feet make a klink sound.
The figure jerks with surprise and spins around. It's a teenage girl with black hair and is dressed in all black.

Girl: *Glares at them* ...  *Pulls out two daggers*

Jaxon: ... Damn. We've been detected.

Girl: What are you doing here?!

Jaxon: ... Sight seeing. *Looks up* Look at the pretty stars.

Girl: *Eyes narrow* Don't play around with me. *Waves one of the daggers in the air* I'll cut you!

Jaxon: ... Ok, I'll ask nicely. Where's the girl you took?

Girl: What are you talking about? I told you not to play with me!

The winged creature flies by. Its wings make a loud whoosh sound.

Girl: *Spins around and sees it* *Takes a small transponder snail out of her pocket and talks into it* It just flew by the restaurant and is heading towards the hotel. Over.

Transponder Snail: Roger that. Over.

Jaxon: *Spots the winged creature in flight* *Looks to the girl* I knew you knew something about it!

Girl: Well, If you were looking for the vampire, why did you ask about a girl? You're not making any sense!

Bhola: The creature took a girl from the harbor... Wait! Vampire?

Girl: In any case, you'd better stay away from it. Our Captain's called dibs!

Jaxon: ... Your... Captain? So... How is there a Vampire here? Who... Or what is that thing? And why did it steal the girl?

Girl: Yes. Captain Nemo Minuson of the Heartbreak Pirates.
We've tracked it here. No idea why it settled on this island in particular.
We haven't gotten a good look at it yet.

Bhola: There is no such thing as vampires!

Girl: Says you.

Jaxon: ... If it's a Vampire as you say, you'll prove it. So for now, I ask an alliance until the girl is safe.

Girl: I don't need to prove anything to you! And I don't care about the girl. I told you to stay away from the vampire. We found it! It's ours!

Jaxon: ... Then it's yours. Keep it, make it your pet. Do what you want with it. We just want the girl it took.

Girl: Well, that's your problem.

Transponder snail: It's passed the hotel and is heading towards the Casino.

Girl: *Holds the snail to her mouth* Roger that.

Jaxon: *Looks around* Like I said; You can have the creature. We want the girl it took. *Looks to Bhola and Greenbeard* Come on, we'll warp over to the hotel and head it off.

Girl: Whatever. *Turns around and continues watching the sky*

Bhola: It already passed the hotel. Shouldn't we go to the casino?

Jaxon: ... Right. Wasn't thinking further. *Holds both their hands* Jump Tri-Warp. *They suddenly warp to the Casino roof* . . . *Turns out they're five feet above the casino roof* Whoops! *Starts falling*

Greenbeard: *Lands on his feet*

Bhola: *Lands on her butt with a clang*

There is another figure on this roof as well. Its dressed the same way, but is slightly larger.

Jaxon: *Lands on his feet* ... *Looks to the figure* Is that it?

Figure: Is what it? *Speaks in a very draggy voice and slowly turns around*

It's a teenage boy with dark rings under his eyes. His has messy, black hair and is a bit hunched over.

Teen: Oh, it's you. *Turns back to watch the sky*

Jaxon: What are you doing up here?

Teen: *Continues watching the sky* Waiting for someone.

Jaxon: ... The Vampire, right?

Teen: I see you stay informed.... And there you are.

Thorny vines start growing out of the teen's back and sleeves. Roots grow out of his feet and start to dig themselves into the roof.

Jaxon can here a sound of flapping wings in the distance.

Jaxon: *Looks to the distance* Hm?

He sees the winged creature approaching.

Teen: Just a little closer...

Jaxon: ... *Looks to Greenbeard and Bhola* Let's help bring it down.

Greenbeard and Bhola nod.

The creature comes closer.

Teen: *Whips the vines around the creature* *Starts pulling it in*

Creature: *Shrieks and struggles* *Drops something human-shaped*

Bhola: I think that's our girl.

Jaxon: *Warps over to the human* *Gently helps it up*

It's Cinnamon. She's bleeding from the throat, but is perfectly clam and seems unaware of her surroundings, like she's in a trance.

Creature: *Flies up and pulls the vines*

Teen: *Is yanked off his feet but the roots he put down keep him from being carried away*

Jaxon: *Looks to the teen* Bhola! Greenbeard! Help the teen! Don't let that creature get away! I'll take Cinnamon back to Reginald.

Bhola: *Grabs the teen to to steady him*

Greenbeard: *Jumps onto the stretched out vines and starts to run along them*

Creature: *Starts to gnaw on the vines*

Jaxon: Greenbeard! Whatever you do, don't kill it!

Greenbeard: Wouldn't dream of it.

Creature: *Bites through the vines*

Bhola and the teen fall backwards.

Greenbeard: *Jumps off the vines and grabs onto the creature*

Jaxon: *Watches Greenbeard wrestle the creature*

Greenbeard: *Grabs the creatures wings*

Creature: *Bites Greenbeard on the shoulder*

They both crash to the ground.
